Abstract
The study titled "An Analysis of Multimodality in Teaching English as a Foreign
Language" employs a qualitative research approach to investigate the use of
multimodality in EFL instruction. The research aims to understand the teacher's
perspective on using multimodality and its impact on student learning outcomes.
The study uses a case study design, which involves in-depth examination of a
specific case or phenomenon within its real-life context. The study was conducted
at SMPS Panglima Polem Rantauprapat (PPR) in the X-A classroom of SMP S PPR
in Rantauprapat, Labuhan Batu, North Sumatra. The subject of the study is an
English subject teacher. The researcher used a semi-structured interview guideline,
classroom observations, and document analysis. The findings can contribute to the
development of effective teaching strategies and enhance the overall quality of
education. The study highlights various teaching strategies for different learning
styles: Visual, Using images, diagrams, and videos to enhance learning. Auditory,
Encouraging students to participate in discussions, read aloud, and use audio aids.
Kinesthetic, Incorporating practical experiences, demonstrations, and hands-on
activities. These strategies can help teachers cater to diverse learning styles,
making learning more engaging and effective for students
