Abstract
"Lily Nabila Tasha, 2024. Exploring Grammar Learning Strategies a Descriptive
Study of EFL University Students at Aceh Province, University of Bina Bangsa Get
Sempena, Advisor I. Dr. Syarfuni, M.Pd. Advisor II. Rosdiana, M.Pd
This research concludes that undergraduate students majoring in English in Aceh
use various grammar learning strategies. They actively use cognitive strategies such
as taking notes during teacher explanations and categorizing grammatical
structures, as well as metacognitive strategies such as looking for more effective
learning methods. In addition, they showed significant engagement in affective
strategies, such as rewarding oneself after succeeding in a grammar test, and social
strategies such as seeking help from native speakers or peers when having difficulty
understanding grammar rules. Overall, students applied these strategies equally,
with an average percentage ranging from 75% to 79% for each type of strategy. This
reflects their comprehensive approach in understanding and mastering English
grammar, not only relying on cognitive knowledge but also integrating social,
metacognitive and affective aspects into their learning process. Thus, these findings
provide valuable insight into how these strategies can be implemented and
strengthened in the context of teaching English as a foreign language in Aceh."
