THE USE OF BUSUU APPLICATION TO IMPROVE STUDENTS LISTENING SKILLS (AN EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH AT SMAN 9 BANDA ACEH)

Listening skills are critical for communication, particularly while learning a language and interacting in daily activities. Therefore, the goal of this research is to find out whether using the Busuu application can improve students' listening skills. This research consists of two variables, there were independent variable (X) and dependent variable (Y). Independent variable refers to Busuu application and dependent variable refers to listening skills. The research method in this study was as quantitative method with a quasi-experiment of researcher. The population of all students is 40 students. The sample for this research is 20 students in class XI-1A SMA N 9 Banda Aceh for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research was carried out in 4 meetings with pre-test, treatment and post-test procedures. There are two classes for experience (experimental class XI-1A and control class XI-1B). There are have two class for experience (experiment class and control class). The data of this research was obtained through listening test, instrument and documentation. After calculating data, the researcher found the value of calculated in Control class was 44% and calculating in Experiment class was 58%, while it means that calculated that the significant value in experiment class was 0.000 and it was lower than significant 0.000 < 0.005. therefore, null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It can be concluded that there was significant the use of Busuu Application to Improve Students Listening Skills an Experimental Researcher at SMA N 9 Banda Aceh.
